Cardboard Astronaut 2.0 by Armando Heredia

A lot has changed for me since I first published Cardboard Astronaut. I am now co-pastoring a church called Tapestry in Granite City with my wife, a great couple – Steve and Chrissy Wilson and a dynamic young lady named Katherine Smith. Now that I am pastoring I feel like the ideas and information in Cardboard Astronaut are more valuable and more pressing.

There are a number of issues explored in the book that I feel God has really inspired me to delve into. I decided to convert the book into a study site in which I will be writing commentary and creating content that can be used for group and individual devotions. At the end of each chapter/page is a place to comment, please feel free to do so. Check it out here: CardboardAstronaut.com

You can also purchase a hard copy of the book through Amazon.com and in Kindle format here.

  1. I’m steadily moving through Cardboard Astronaut. It is not a difficult read; yet it is forcing me to re-examine some longheld “truths” and conceptions I’ve had concerning the church and my various roles: congregant, husband, father, son, and brother.

I heartily recommend the book to people of all faiths or no faith at all. Armando’s style of writing is both intruiging and engaging. I find myself bringing up his suppositions in conversation, bouncing them off my friends and family – which I appreciate as it is both conversation starter and challenges me to critically examine my own faith and ideas. I am fiercely enjoying the book.

My faith and person is strengthened by Armando’s words.
